The Essential Basics of Backgammon Game Plans – Part 1
The objective of a Backgammon match is to move your checkers around the Backgammon board and get those pieces off the board faster than your opponent who works harder to achieve the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Succeeding in a match of Backgammon requires both strategy and fortune. How far you will be able to move your pieces is left to the numbers from tossing the dice, and how you move your pieces are decided on by your overall gambling plans. Enthusiasts use differing plans in the different stages of a match based on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Tactic
The goal of the Running Game strategy is to entice all your chips into your inner board and pull them off as fast as you can. This technique concentrates on the speed of advancing your pieces with absolutely no time spent to hit or stop your opponent’s pieces. The best time to use this technique is when you believe you might be able to move your own chips a lot faster than the opponent does: when 1) you have less checkers on the game board; 2) all your checkers have past your opponent’s checkers; or 3) the opposing player doesn’t use the hitting or blocking tactic.
The Blocking Game Plan
The main aim of the blocking strategy, by the name, is to stop your opponent’s checkers, temporarily, while not worrying about shifting your checkers rapidly. After you have established the blockade for your competitor’s movement with a few chips, you can move your other checkers rapidly from the board. You should also have a clear plan when to withdraw and move the pieces that you used for the blockade. The game gets interesting when your competitor uses the same blocking strategy.
