The Running Game Tactic

The aim of the Running Game strategy is to entice all your pieces into your home board and get them off as fast as you can. This strategy focuses on the speed of shifting your pieces with no efforts to hit or block your competitor’s checkers. The best time to employ this strategy is when you believe you might be able to move your own chips quicker than the opposition does: when 1) you have less chips on the board; 2) all your chips have past your competitor’s checkers; or 3) the opponent doesn’t use the hitting or blocking tactic.

The Blocking Game Tactic

The primary aim of the blocking technique, by its name, is to stop your opponent’s chips, temporarily, not fretting about shifting your pieces quickly. Once you have established the blockage for the opponent’s movement with a couple of pieces, you can shift your other pieces quickly off the board. You should also have an apparent plan when to extract and shift the checkers that you employed for blocking. The game becomes intriguing when your opposition utilizes the same blocking tactic.
