The Essential Basics of Backgammon Strategies – Part One
The goal of a Backgammon match is to shift your chips around the game board and bear those pieces from the board quicker than your challenger who works just as hard to do the same buthowever they move in the opposing direction. Succeeding in a round of Backgammon requires both strategy and luck. Just how far you can move your chips is up to the numbers from rolling a pair of dice, and how you shift your chips are determined by your overall playing techniques. Enthusiasts use a number of tactics in the differing parts of a match depending on your positions and opponent’s.
The Running Game Technique
The goal of the Running Game technique is to entice all your pieces into your inside board and pull them off as quickly as you could. This tactic focuses on the speed of moving your pieces with no efforts to hit or block your competitor’s pieces. The best time to employ this strategy is when you believe you can shift your own checkers a lot faster than your opponent does: when 1) you have a fewer pieces on the board; 2) all your checkers have past your opponent’s pieces; or 3) your opponent doesn’t use the hitting or blocking technique.
The Blocking Game Plan
The main goal of the blocking tactic, by the name, is to stop the opponent’s chips, temporarily, not fretting about moving your checkers rapidly. After you’ve created the blockage for your opponent’s movement with a couple of checkers, you can move your other pieces swiftly from the game board. You should also have an apparent strategy when to extract and shift the checkers that you used for the blockade. The game gets interesting when the opposition uses the same blocking tactic.
